Do you have questions about fire in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains? Join us on September 26th for the 3rd biannual Southern Blue Ridge Fire Fair, a free event for landowners, curious minds and prospective employees of fire and natural resources. We will hear from Adam Warwick, Stewardship Manager for The Nature Conservancy, on the role and importance of fire in our region. This will be followed by a networking event with local natural resource professionals to learn more about job opportunities, funding, technical assistance and other available resources. A free lunch will be provided, followed by a tour of a burn unit on the Warren Wilson College Forest with Armin Wise, Assistant Professor of Forest Management at Western Carolina University, and Juniper Odell, Burn Crew Leader with the Nature Conservancy. They will be leading a discussion on the ecology of the site and how to properly conduct a controlled burn. The event will be held in 110 Boon Hall and will begin at 9:00am. The event is free.

Please join us for the Southern Blue Ridge PBA's First Annual Meeting! This event is intended for landowners, volunteers, nonprofit partners, government partners, and anyone else engaged in or curious about the SBR-PBA. We will be discussing the SBR-PBA's activity over the last few years, upcoming burns and events, and how to expand our reach. Lunch will be provided.
